Hey, I’m Eve.

I (she/her) am a Black writer from and based in Chicago.

I write feature screenplays and tv pilots primarily in the drama and dark comedy genres, focusing on the interior lives of Black women.

I am a University of Pennsylvania graduate where I studied International Studies with a focus on Mandarin Chinese and Environmental Policy & Business.

While in undergrad, I also took relevant courses in creative writing including Introductory and Advanced Playwriting, Advanced Fiction: Novella, and Comparative Film Studies: Cinema and Politics.

My Creative Vision

Complex interiority

I am passionate about bringing to life universally resonant life stories that center Black women and marginalized communities in all of our beautiful, muddy, vulnerable, proud, vulgar, delightful, and insecure complexities.

The stories we see on screen open up new possibilities for the ways we conceive of ourselves and envision our futures.

My work strives to take the vulnerable child, parent, sibling, lover, friend in all of us and showcase her full humanity - even her ugliness.

Genre transgressive

Much as our own lives dip, twist, and bend across triumphs and horrors, failures and pleasures, I seek to write across genres that pull my characters through their journeys.

My current body of work sits across drama, psychological drama, southern gothic/gothic horror, and dark comedy genres.

No Entry

Short: A woman trapped in Hell faces the Sisyphean task of accepting herself and being with her lover.

-In Draft-

Feature-length script set in rural Alabama exploring themes of rural land loss, sexual repression, and how curses wind their way through families, razing, ravaging, and perhaps blessing as they go.
